For Children in Need of Health Insurance Coverage
C.H.I.P. is the Children’s Health Insurance Program of Pennsylvania. Free or low-cost coverage includes physician and specialist visits, preventive care, emergency care, immunizations, surgery, hospitalization, mental health and substance abuse care, home health care, rehabilitation therapy, durable medical equipment, prescriptions, dental, vision, and hearing care. Children from birth through 18 years of age are eligible for the program if their families meet the age, family size, and income guidelines, are not enrolled in other insurance and are not eligible for Medical Assistance. Your school nurse has information packets on this program. Just call her to send one home for you.
