As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our transportation system, we have made a change that affects students who previously crossed at the intersection of Iroquois Avenue and Route 724.
We have eliminated the crossing guard at Iroquois Avenue and Route 724 and replaced it with a new bus stop at Hillvale Avenue and Iroquois Avenue. Families with students eligible for transportation at this new bus stop have already been notified.
This adjustment is part of our broader plan to streamline transportation and ensure students have safe and efficient options for getting to and from school. The new bus stop was chosen to serve the needs of eligible students while maintaining safety as our top priority.
Some students may still wish to cross at the intersection of Iroquois Avenue and Route 724 before or after school. Please be aware that, as of now, there is no longer a crossing guard stationed at this intersection. We strongly encourage all students and families to use caution and consider alternative routes or modes of transportation where possible.
Safety is a shared responsibility, and we ask that parents and guardians discuss this change with their children to ensure they are aware of the new traffic patterns and potential risks.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Transportation Department. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make these adjustments to better serve our students and community.
