Wilson Academic Academies

As promised earlier, additional information regarding our academic academies is posted below.  Please note, this is an overview and an entry point.  Our academies will only grow and evolve as our student and community needs dictate.  We are building partnerships with our community and our stakeholders to ensure that these learning communities move well beyond simple structural or scheduling changes; we know it takes much more than a 'new face' to positively impact the educational experience.  With that in mind, you will note that each academy insists our students engage in collaborative learning that extends beyond the classroom, that integrates content and makes connections to lived experiences, and that challenges our students to problem solve, synthesize information, and generate new ideas.  Students will also be required to demonstrate their learning through portfolios and presentations and will be actively involved with experts in their field(s) of interest thus educating, inspiring, and encouraging our students to reach beyond the walls of Wilson.
