    The 90-minute award-winning film, SCREENAGERS, probes into the vulnerable corners of family life in a digital age. Through surprising insights from authors and brain scientists, solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to best navigate these challenges. SCREENAGERS reveals how screen time impacts kids' development and also offers solutions on how adults can empower their children to best navigate the digital world to find balance.

    Wilson School District is pleased to offer families the opportunity to view the film SCREENAGERS on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 6:30 PM in the Wilson West Middle School Auditorium. At the conclusion of the film, a panel welcomes questions and thoughts for discussion with our community.

  • Snow Make Up Days

    The following adjustments have been made to the district calendar to account for the recent school closing: 

    • The closure on Thursday, February 9, 2017 will be made up on Monday, February 20, 2017 (snow make up #2)
    • The closures on Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15, 2017 will be made up on Monday, April 10 (snow make up #3) and Tuesday, April 11, 2017 (snow make up #4)

             Please note:  Snow make up #1 scheduled for November 28, 2016 was not used.

  • Lions Club Peace Poster National Winner

    Congratulations to Karen Mendoza, an 8th grader at Wilson West Middle School who has been awarded the Lions Club Peace Poster National Winner Award. She will represent the United States of America as she advances to the next level of competition for the International Peace Poster Contest. We are so thrilled she will represent our nation. This is an amazing honor and we are extremely proud of Karen!

  • JROTC Mentor Lunch Groups

    Students interested in learning more about leadership, wellness, diversity and achievement should consider attending our weekly JROTC Mentor Lunch Groups held during each grades lunch period. See the attached informational letter and permission slip to get involved.

  • 3rd Marking Period Grades

    Grades from the third marking period will be visible through Skyward Family Access "Portfolio" tab starting the evening of Thursday, April 6. Please note that there is a mobile app for Family Access which provides a convenient way for parents and guardians, as well as students, to access grades, cafeteria accounts and more. If you have any questions, please contact the building secretary.

    Portrait packages have been given to the students to take home for review.  The students must return the entire package, or any unwanted portrait sheets with the payment for any pictures not returned, by March 22nd.

    Thursday, January 26th - Scheduling Information Assembly for current 8th graders during school day

    January 30th-February 13th - Student Course Selection Process

    Wednesday, February 15th 6:30-8:00 PM -  Scheduling Information Night for Parents of current 8th graders at Wilson Senior High School Auditorium. 

    Tuesday, February 21st - Students enter schedules during school day

    Friday, March 31st - Last day for student schedule changes

  • Schools to Watch Award 
    Wilson West Middle School recently earned the distinction as a PA Don Eichorn "Schools to Watch" school. West was selected for its academic excellence, responsiveness to the needs and interests of young adolescents, and its commitment to helping all students achieve at high levels.  The "Schools to Watch" program identifies middle schools across the country that meet or exceed 37 criteria developed by the National Forum.  Congratulations to Principal Wetherhold, staff, students and parents of Wilson West.  Well done!

    Emergency & Inclement Weather Notification

    for School Closing, Delay and Early Dismissal

    As soon as a weather or other emergency situation that may affect the school day presents itself, the Superintendent will be in touch with our Transportation and Operations Directors, as well as surrounding district Superintendents.  He will make a decision based on the information presented to him at the time that the call must be made for the purposes of maintaining student and employee safety.  The Wilson School District has a comprehensive and time-efficient notification plan in place for updating our staff, parents and students.  Please visit www.WilsonSD.org/Emergency to take note of the ways in which we will post any information related to a Wilson school closing, delay or early dismissal for inclement weather or other emergency situation.
