LIFEGUARDING INSTRUCTORS COURSE TRAINING
 
The purpose of the instructor course is to train candidates to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Blended Learning, Shallow Water Lifeguarding, Waterpark, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Provider, Administering Emergency Oxygen and Bloodborne Pathogens Training course and/or Modules. 

This course is multiple days.  and that will teach the new skills, as well as review old skills, of CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers. Students must attend entire class, pass all tests and competently perform required skills in order to receive certification at the end of the course. Payment and attendance does not guarantee recertification.

Class will take place in the Natatorium Classroom and Pool. Class is limited to 7 participants. 
 
PREREQUISITES: Students must already be: 
  • Be at least 17 years of age on or before the last day of class
  • Have a current CPR/AED, first-aid and lifeguarding certification or equivalent certification from another organization
  • Complete the online session for American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course
 
SWIMMING REQUIREMENTS:
  • 300 yard swim demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Participants may use the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. 
  • Treading water using only legs for two minutes.
  • A timed 20yd swim retrieving a 10 pound weight and return to the starting point within 1 minute 40 seconds. No goggles an be used.  

COST OF COURSE: 
Includes Fees, all materials and CPR Mask.  

Wilson Resident: $350 (plus additional $35 online fee)
Non-Resident: $375 (plus additional $35 online fee)
