  • Wilson Families:

One of our school goals is to create a home and school partnerships which enhance our students' educational success. We believe that communication is an important part of creating this partnership. Mrs. Stoudt (our Director of Assessment, Data, & Analysis) has created a survey which will be used for a doctoral class to determine the best means to communicate to parents/guardians.  Below is a link to a very brief communication survey. Your feedback will be used to assist us in planning more effective family and school communications. Thank you in advance for your input.   https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZQFF6RW

  • Use of Wilson School District Facilities by Reading Area Community College

It has come to our attention that there has been incorrect information posted on social media regarding a possible arrangement between Wilson School District (WSD) and Reading Area Community College (RACC).  The following is intended to provide clarification and to address concerns.

Q:        What is the arrangement being considered?

A:         Under the proposed arrangement, RACC will use for evening instruction seven to nine classrooms and a small work area at Southern Middle School, starting with the 2017-18 school year.

Q:        Will RACC classes occur during the school day?

A:         No.  RACC courses will occur in the evening, after Southern’s instructional day has ended.

Q:        Will RACC have access to all of Southern Middle School?

A:         No.  RACC will be restricted to the agreed classroom and work area.  No further access will be available to RACC.  RACC will have its own entrance and will provide security to monitor the area it is using.

Q:        Why is this arrangement being considered?

A:         This arrangement is expected to benefit both our District and our community.  In addition to generating revenue for the District, it will deepen the relationship between RACC and WSD, with the potential to provide numerous opportunities for our children.

Q:        What should I do if I have additional questions?

A:         Contact Wilson’s Superintendent of Schools at 610-670-0180, Ext. 1113 or at rafche@wilsonsd.org.
